I left my career in the news business for the creative freedom of writing fiction. It's such a joy to delve into my imagination and craft stories around things I've seen. I learned that no matter where I worked~ from the East Coast to the West, people are the same. Some are leaders, some followers. Some are cruel, others selfless.
People love. People lust. People hate.
I've covered and interviewed everyone from mass murders to governors, sat with the loved ones of murder victims and interviewed their killers in prison. It was a colorful career that translates into stories.
The people I write about are compilations of people I interviewed and observed over the years~ but what they have in common is they're all colored by my imagination. No one is real in my books, but I might take a tic from someone who is real and implant it in one of my characters.
